01

Your privacy & data

What we collect

Reframe collects only what is necessary to generate your lyrics and match you with a beat. You are not required to provide your name. Providing an email address is optional.

How we use your information

Your responses are stored securely and used solely to:

  • Generate your Reframe output — lyrics and beat pairing.
  • Improve the functioning of the Reframe platform.

We do not sell, share, or use your information for advertising, profiling, marketing, or any third-party purposes.

Your control

You can stop the reflection process at any time. You can choose not to submit your responses. You can request deletion of your data by writing to hello@reframetheproject.com. You are in control of what you share and what happens to it.

Data security

We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your information. However, no internet-based system can be completely secure. By using Reframe, you acknowledge this inherent limitation.

Data retention

We retain your responses for 30 days so you can return to past Reframes. After that period, data is permanently deleted unless you request earlier deletion.

02

What Reframe is (and isn’t)

Reframe is a creative expression tool.

It uses research-based prompts to help you reflect on your experiences and generate original rap lyrics. The output is music — not medical advice, psychological assessment, or therapeutic intervention.

Reframe is not

  • Therapy, counseling, or mental health treatment.
  • A diagnostic tool or medical assessment.
  • A substitute for professional mental health care.
  • A crisis intervention service.
  • Confidential in the way a therapist–client relationship is confidential.

No professional relationship

Using Reframe does not establish a therapist–client, doctor–patient, or any other professional care relationship. The prompts are designed for creative reflection, not clinical evaluation.

Not a substitute for care

If you are experiencing mental health concerns, suicidal thoughts, or psychological distress, please seek support from a qualified mental health professional, a trusted individual, or a crisis service. Reframe is not designed to address acute mental health needs.

03

Informed participation

What to expect

Reframe uses prompts based on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs). Some questions may touch on difficult topics, including childhood adversity, family dynamics, or challenging life experiences. Read about both frameworks.

Your comfort matters

  • You are not required to answer every prompt.
  • You can skip any question that feels uncomfortable.
  • You can pause or exit the session at any time.
  • You choose how much detail to share.

Containment, not extraction

Reframe is designed with containment over confession as a core principle. We do not ask for graphic details or invasive disclosure. Even contained prompts, however, may bring up difficult emotions.

If you experience distress

If you feel overwhelmed, distressed, or triggered during your session:

  1. 1Pause or stop immediately.
  2. 2Step away from the screen.
  3. 3Reach out to a trusted person or mental health professional.
  4. 4Use the crisis resources below if you need immediate support.

You are not obligated to complete a session. Your wellbeing comes first.
